Unite & Ignite: Autumn Onsite Recap
Tread is a diverse team with team members spread across various cities and time zones. A large portion of our daily interactions live online - spanning from video calls, messages and digital workflows. So when we get a chance to bring everyone together for our quarterly onsite, it's a celebration of connection, collaboration and team bonding. We chose to host the team at our office in San Francisco for an unforgettable mix of team bonding, city exploration and some much-needed face time!
Day 1: Company Kickoff & Team Dinner
Our onsite kicked off with high-energy presentations to review our progress, growth and highlights over the past quarter. After discussing company goals, upcoming projects and workflows, we broke into smaller groups to dive deeper into the collaborative team goals that we’re all working on. By the end of these sessions, everyone had a chance to get to know each other deeper, feeling motivated and ready to take on the challenges and opportunities ahead.
That evening, we headed off to a team dinner in San Francisco’s iconic Embarcadero. We were greeted by the waterfront setting, the illuminations of the sun slowing setting with the Bay Bridge in the background, paired with lively conversations made for a memorable night. We enjoyed a delicious meal of Mediterranean inspired dishes paired with local wine and creative drinks, Treadian got to unwind, mingle, share stories and get to know each other better. It was the perfect way to kick off the onsite and set the tone for the next few days to come.
Day 2 & 3: Balancing Work and Play: The Tread Way
Riding the excitement from Day 1, we spent the next two days focusing on putting heads down and strengthening our team bonds through collaborative work. After a productive morning filled with in-person collaborations, solving problems we headed to an afternoon at Sandbox VR to unwind.
Entering the virtual realm gave us a creative way to connect and connect with each other through the thrilling missions. Some chose to enter the futuristic world to protect Earth while some choose to defend humanity against the army of undead zombies. The VR experience showcased our team’s creativity, adaptability and ability to think outside the box. We laughed over funny dances and creative action poses while working towards a common goal of defeating the virtual enemies.
For our final team activity, we headed over to Thriller Social Club, a fun place packed with arcade and carnival-style games, ranging from a mixture of classic to modern games. With classic snacks to munch on, our team took up games ranging from skee ball, air hockey, claw games to photo booths. We were able to see personalities and friendly competition come through, such The Thriller Social Club’s retro vibe was a hit with laughter and lighthearted trash talk filling the air.
